Nesefî, Tebṣıratü'l-edille'de Ebû Hanîfe'den Muhammed eş-Şeybânî yoluyla Mâtürîdî'ye ulaşan 'kesintisiz bir âlimler silsilesi' kurmuştur. Bu silsile, görünüşe göre birbirine denk teolojik bakış açılarına sahip âlimlerden oluşmaktadır. Bu yöntemle kelâm geleneğinin özgün bir icat değil, hadis ilmindeki isnad sistemine benzer bir aktarım zinciri olduğunu göstermeye çalışmıştır.

Al-Nasafi established in his Tabsirat al-adilla a 'contiguous chain of scholars with apparently equivalent theological perspectives' from Abu Hanifa through Muhammad al-Shaybani to al-Maturidi. Through this method, he sought to demonstrate that the kalam tradition was not an original invention but a chain of transmission similar to the isnad system in hadith scholarship.
