الملخص
This work, which will be analyzed and critiqued by the German Islamic scholar Ulrich Rudolph, is based on his associate professorship work. The author explains the purpose of the study as characterizing al-Māturīdī's system of thought and situating it in the history of Islamic theology. Geographically, this study focuses on the region of the Māverānaynehir and the city of Samarkand. This region is characterized by the early formation of a Hanafi school of theology that dominated all other Islamic movements. The thought represented by this school of theology determined the official belief system of the region. The difference or originality of al-Māturīdī is that the thought he taught did not fit well with traditional theology. His thought, as this study will show, changed the traditional theological system.
