This study proposes a comprehensive model to reconcile the apparent dichotomy between modern evolutionary biology and the Qur'anic narrative of human creation. The central thesis, based on the synthesis developed by Oruc Ismayılov, posits that humanity emerged through a biological evolutionary process (the formation of Homo sapiens), but the essential characteristics of human personhood—namely metaphysical consciousness, free will, and moral responsibility—were acquired through a divine intervention referred to in the Qur'an as the “Inbreathing of the Spirit” (Ruh Üflenmesi). The paper analyzes paleoanthropological and genetic evidence confirming the evolutionary origin of the human physical form (dating back approximately 300,000 years). It concurrently argues, using philosophical concepts such as Chalmers' Hard Problem of Consciousness and Nagel’s subjective experience, that purely biological processes are insufficient to account for the unique volitional capacity of humans. By interpreting key Qur'anic verses (e.g., Al-Baqarah 2:30 and Al-Hijr 15:29) in light of classical Islamic hermeneutics (Ibn Rushd, Al-Maturidi), the model defines Adam as the first volitional individual—a biologically evolved being who became the first possessor of metaphysical will and moral accountability. This synthesis provides a holistic view where Adam is simultaneously a product of nature and a being who transcends it. The model’s significance lies in its capacity to foster theological harmony with scientific findings, offering a methodological renewal in Qur'anic exegesis, and providing a framework to reduce the pervasive religion-science conflict in the Islamic world. The study concludes that the human state is defined not by birth, but by the acquisition of the Spirit and consciousness.
