The institution of prophetis has had an undeniable reality for humanity throughout history. While the prophets sent to show people the right path have a divine source as they were sent, they also assumed human characteristics in terms of the place they were in and the mass they were dealing with. This two-sided feature found in prophets has made them uncertain from time to time in determining their behavior and attitude. As a result of this, the issue of whether the prophetis committed sins or not came to the agenda. Each thinker gave different answers to this question due to their different perceptions of prophecy. Muhammed Mâtürîdî, one of the Islamic scholars, gave some answers to this question both in his commentary named Ta'vîlâtü'l-Quran and in his theology named Kitâbu't-Tawhid. In this article, we talk about the nature, characteristics, wisdom of the prophets of Muhammad Mâtürîdî and especially the Prophet. We will touch upon the views of other prophets, including Muhammad, on the innocence. Thus, we will try to obtain clues about Mâtürîdî's vision of prophethood.
