Al-Ghazali, one of the most prominent thinkers and theologians in Islamic history, is particularly notable for his contributions to the Ash’arite school. His profound influence on Islamic thought and his original methods have continued to be valuable even after approximately ten centuries after his death. This study examines Al-Ghazali’s contributions to Islam and the Ash’arite school, focusing on the innovations and controversial views he introduced into the discipline of kalam (Islamic theology).In his quest for truth, Al-Ghazali engaged not only in kalam but also in other religious sciences, especially philosophy, initiating transformative changes in these fields. As a thinker who paved the way for a new era in kalam, he holds a distinguished position, having influenced generations of scholars after him. In summary, Al-Ghazali made significant contributions to the correction of erroneous methods in kalam and highlighted the importance of this discipline within Islamic sciences.
