A Hanafi-Maturidi Scholar: Abu'l-Barakat al-Nasafi

A HanafiMaturidi Scholar: Abu'l-Barakat al-Nasafi Abu'l-Barakat al-Nasafi is one of the foremost figures of the classical period of Hanafi jurisprudence and the theological tradition of Maturidiyya which developed in parallel with Hanafiyya. Although the works which he wrote in different fields such as usul al-fiqh, tafsir and kalam, are among the most widely interpreted books and are much read in the madrasas, the knowledge about his life is quite limited. The political turmoil of his time and of region, where he lived, may be among the main reasons for this situation. In this article, on the one hand his life  Yrd. Doç. Dr., Abant İzzet Baysal Ü. İlahiyat Fakültesi, [email protected] and works will be introduced, on the other hand some major details will be indicated, which are missed by previous scholars who have collected his biography.
