This article explores the contributions of Molde Sabyr, a renowned scholar from Zardaly, to the Hanafi‑Maturidi understanding of Islam in Kyrgyz society. As a distinguished expert in Islamic law and translation, his work had a lasting impact on the local religious and cultural landscape. The study first outlines Molde Sabyr's biography, written works, and translations from Chagatai and Arabic. It also highlights his role in preserving Kyrgyz oral traditions and enriching local religious literature. Following Kyrgyzstan's independence, Molde Sabyr actively promoted religious awareness and literacy among the population. The article examines his role in strengthening the Hanafi‑Maturidi school of thought during that period. This research underlines the importance of preserving the traditional religious understanding upheld by generations of Kyrgyz Muslims. Finally, it considers challenges posed by modern ideological shifts. It calls for the continued development of a national religious identity rooted in the Hanafi‑Maturidi tradition, in line with the state's official religious policy.
