The Understanding of the Maturidi School on Hadith

Maturidi School has been spread, especially, among the Turks and in the places where Turkish Muslim heritage prevailed. Maturidi scholars have important roles in the formation of classical Islamic tradition. The understanding of Hadith in this school also determines the Hadith and Sunnah perceptions of that school’s followers. This study mainly examines the detection of the authenticity of the Hadith and their understanding methods within the context of the Maturidies’ theory of knowledge. This study has been done within the framework of the works written by Maturidi himself and by those scholars who lived until the 6th century of Hijra.
