Teftâzânî, Nesefî'nin Akâid'ine yazdığı şerhte peygamber gönderilmesini (risâlet) 'vâcip' olarak nitelemiş, bunu ilâhî hikmete dayandırmıştır. Taftazani, in his commentary on al-Nasafi's creed, called the sending of apostles (risala) 'wadjib' (necessary), grounding it in divine wisdom. This distinctly semi-rationalist Maturidi position stands against pure Ash'arite voluntarism — the view that God could have chosen not to send prophets. His commentary became the canonical text that carried Maturidi doctrine across the entire Islamic world.
