Mâtürîdî'ye göre Allah'ın ilmi ezelî, küllî ve muhîttir — geçmiş, hâl ve geleceği kuşatır. İlâhî ilim değişmez ve artmaz; olmuş ve olacak her şey Allah'ın ezelî bilgisi dâhilindedir. Ancak bu bilgi, insanın fiillerini zorunlu kılmaz — ilim, ma'lûma (bilinene) tâbidir, bilinen ilme tâbi değildir.

According to Māturīdī, God's knowledge is eternal, comprehensive, and all-encompassing. It covers past, present, and future events. Yet this foreknowledge does not necessitate human actions — knowledge follows the known, not the reverse.
